Nasi Lemak Cuisine

Nasi Lemak is a type of traditional Malaysian Food, originated by Indian community, but later popularized by Malay community in tropical countries, especially in Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia.

Nasi Lemak is a symbolic or so called signature food for the races by representing malaysian food as it carried nationality spirit beside it's delicious taste and flavor.

The nasi lemak dishes served with coconut rice with variety of toppings like red chilies with onions and anchovies (or called by Malay community as "sambal"),fried groundnuts, vegetables ("kangkung"),boiled or fried egg and also fried anchovies. Some nasi lemak cuisine even served with side dishes like curry chicken, dried curry coconut chicken ("rendang') cuttle fish with chillies puree, slices beef or even with plain deep fried chicken.

The Malaysian Food culture was famous with spicy and the application of coconut milk in the cuisine is quite frequent. Malaysia government, enforced by the Ministry of Tourism was categorized Nasi Lemak as the top 10 Malaysian Food that representing the country, others like satay, baba nyonya cuisine, laksa also been listed.

Nasi Lemak can be served as main course for the meal as its quantity quite rich. Any how, some people intend to consume it as the breakfast dishes also. The combination of the sweet, spicy, crispy for this dish has always leave a good impact for people whom first test it.

Since Nasi Lemak has representing the nature of the country, many Malaysian food Guide and directory has recommended this food to the world. Many food critics from overseas also interested for pursuing the recipe of this dish and some even has modified the recipe with their local flavor.
